Travel Diary: Girl's Weekend in Chicago

Happy Friday, friends! I can't believe another weekend is here (although I'm very pleased about it). This time last week I was hanging in Chicago with my friends for a fun girl's weekend. Let's just say my coat finally made it out of the closet for the first time in over a year and I wasn't mad about it!

If you're planning a girl's adventure in Chi Town then here are a few suggestions for eats and fun stops, including the BEST taco place you've ever eaten at:

eats + drinks

floriole cafe

 - the cutest little bakery/brunch spot in Lincoln Park. The food is superb and the two-floor open floor plan is gorgeous.

velvet taco

- you guys, these are the best and most unique tacos EVER. Basically anything you could put into a sandwich (and more) they can put in a taco. My favorite was the Tikka Masala. #todiefor I've been dreaming about these tacos since I left and want to convince them to bring one to LA.

momataro izakaya

- below Momataro there is the "Izakaya" portion of the restaurant which has delicious Japanese street food. Definitely get the ramen and the gyozos; they're beyond yum. Also the cocktails are to-die-for.

cindy's

- rooftop bar above the Chicago Athletic Association. It's kind of sceney but the cocktails are superb and the views are insane - literally

panoramic views of Millennium Park, the Art Institute, and Lake Michigan.

shopping + fun

nordstrom

- okay, I know Nordstrom isn't a new thing but the Michigan Ave. location is EPIC. It has a Louboutin pop-in shop and I may

have come home with these

zara

- if you're going to be at Nordstrom then pop into the Zara around the corner. I always love to see what different Zara locations have to offer because sometimes it's a whole new world.

restoration hardware

- this isn't any RH it's the MAMA of all RH's (

). Think 5 floors of gorgeous product that all link into a center restaurant flanked with chandeliers and greenery. I mean, I can't. It's nuts! My tip: go put your name in at resto (the wait is long) and then grab a coffee from the coffee bar and explore the 5 floors of beautifulness while you wait.

Soul Cycle

- when in Chicago I always try to take

my friend Hallie's

soul cycle class because she's bomb.com. Best. Cardio. Ever!
