#Targetstyle: 3 Easy Summer Vacay Hairstyles

As I prepare for my upcoming Miami vacay, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite vacay hairstyles that can take you from pool to evening cocktails, and let you go a day (or two) without washing!

{beachy waves}

You know I'm all about beachy waves all year round, but they're especially perfect for summer vacays. I typically use a 1-inch curling wand, but lately I've been trying out a 1.5-inch curling iron. I love the subtle waves that it creates because they look a bit more undone.

One of my pro-travel tips is using

reusable containers

for your shampoo and

conditioner

because it allows you to bring

your go-to products instead of picking up a travel-sized product that you may not love! Hair definitely knows when you're not using the good stuff. Plus, I leave my travel toiletry bag under my sink; that way I can grab and go whenever I need. Recently, I've been trying out Clairol's new

Hair Food line

, which is all-natural, gluten-free, sulfate-free, and smells like a dream.

{messy top bun}

This is my favorite pool-to-cocktails style because the top layer of my hair is typically pretty oily and dirty after a day at the pool, but I don't always want to wash and style it (don't worry, I still shower) because I'm just going to go to the pool the next day.

To get this look, all you need is a hair-tie and a few bobby pins. Grab the top layer of your hair—less than what you would normally do for a half-up, half-down style. Pull into a ponytail at the crown of your head. Messily pin pieces to create a full bun-like style. There's really no right way to do it; just pin until it feels right.

Another one of my travel essentials is dry shampoo. It ALWAYS comes in handy.

This one from Hair Food

is a perfect carry-on size and smells like a tropical vacay. For

second-day

beach hair, I always go a little heavy on the dry shampoo at the roots and opt for a side fishtail braid.

Pull hair to one side and then

into

two sections. Pull a piece from the underside of one section and cross over and secure with second section. Do the same for each side until you complete the braid. I always like to secure with a hair-tie

, and

then use my hands to pull

apart

the braid and loosen it up.
