Bump Style: Bump Friendly Midi Skirts You Already Own

It’s happened: I’ve popped! And now I’m trying to figure out how to dress this little bump of mine and TBH, it’s been kind of fun. Fun because I’m challenging myself to really shop my closet before ordering ALL. THE. THINGS. The most bump friendly item I’ve found so far is a midi skirt. Chances are you own one or a few and they really work for a growing bump; just pull them up a little higher and tah-dah. They are also awesome for this kind of transitional period between winter and spring because you can layer if needed. Keep scrolling for a 4 ideas that will hopefully inspire you to work with what you’ve got at home + linking some great options in case you’re in the market:

What to wear in your second trimester

Bump Friendly fashionable outfits - midi skirt and Anine Bing sweatershirt

What’s more chic than a simple skirt and graphic sweatshirt? This sweatshirt is truly one of my favorite purchases. Yes, the price tag is a bit hard to swallow but I’ve worn it SO.MANY.TIMES. that the price per wear is minimal. This skirt is old but there are a few similar styles here, here, and here. These snakeskin boots are on SUPER sale and despite the reviews, I think they fit true to size.

Realisation Par Leopard Skirt for Maternity Outfit

Realisation Par Leopard Skirt - Bump Style Outfits

This skirt is an oldie but truly a goodie from Realisation Par. You can see 6 other ways to style it (non-maternity) and deets on sizing over on this post from last January. This is such a great one for casual looks and even work looks (keep scrolling for an office-appropriate look). My top is old but here’s a similar one. Shoes are ASOS.

Waverleigh Two Piece Maternity Set

Maternity Fashion Ideas: two piece set from Waverleigh

Okay, I fibbed - this one didn’t come from my closet and is actually a maternity set from a new line called Waverleigh. This set is SO comfy and cozy and I love that you can break it up and wear as separates. Want to know what’s crazy? All these photos were taken on the same day - isn’t my bump really bumping in this set? It definitely goes to show that different fabrics can accentuate in different ways. Silks and satins are a little less bump hugging, more caressing whereas cottons and stretchy fabrics show off all the beautiful curves.
