5 Things I Bought in my Second Trimester
It’s pretty mind blowing how fast pregnancy goes! Now that I’m in my third trimester I’m in the thick of buying EVERYTHING to get prepped for this baby (they need so much for being so little). The good thing is that you really don’t have to worry about much in the first two trimesters and can really get by with only a handful of purchases. Keep scrolling for my 5 must-have items for the second trimester.
In case you missed it: here are the 5 things I bought in my first trimester.

Bella Band - this baby is a GODSEND if you want stay away from maternity jeans. I was able to wear my pre-pregnancy jeans throughout my entire pregnancy because of this $28 band. You can find a how-to on this post plus a quick outfit video with some ideas on how to wear it.
Emily Oster’s Cribsheet - the next installment of Emily’s date driven baby/parenting books. We loved her pregnancy book (1 of the 5 things I bought in my first trimester) and this next book is all post birth and those first few years. It’s a lot more data driven and analytical than the first which makes it a little harder to breeze through but it’s still super insightful and makes me feel much more at ease about diving into mommyhood.
Soma Underwear - aka bought MORE. Last year I held a sort of “underwear challenge” and Soma’s lace thong came out on top from fit to price point. I noticed as my body was changing that they continued to be the only undies that worked and still felt very comfy - BLESS! Highly recommend if you’re searching for preggers thongs.
Blanqi Everyday Maternity Shorts - I bought these in black at the beginning of my second trimester and just bought them in white (at 34 weeks). You will live in these especially if you’re pregnant in the summer. They also feel very fashionable since the biker short trend is very in right now! I’m also planning to wear post-partum under my Belly Bandit.
Pregnancy Ball - I actually bought this at the beginning of my third trimester per the recommendation of the doula who taught our labor + delivery class. Definitely wish I would’ve purchased it sooner because it really helps with my hip discomfort. I sit on it while we watch tv, at my desk, and whenever I need a little hip stretch. I’m also certain I will use it a ton when laboring at home!
