AIRBNB Wishlists + Tips for Finding the Best Vacation Rentals

Why do I love AIRBNB? Oh for countless reasons: with a wide variety of properties to choose from, you can find the perfect place to stay for any budget. Whether you're looking for a cozy cabin in the woods or a luxurious beachfront villa, you'll find a great selection of rentals on AIRBNB. Their search functionality, filters, and reviews from previous guests are extremely helpful in making your decision. Not to mention there are just some absolutely gorgeous places to be discovered!

As we start planning for Eurotrip 2023, I realized I’ve created some incredible AIRBNB wishlists that it would be a shame not to share the goodness. Whether you have a set itinerary in mind or you’re just dreaming of your next vacay, there is nothing more wanderlust inducing than finding unique stays and adding them to a wishlist. All the ammunition to manifest into reality, you know what I mean? Keep scrolling for my AIRBNB Wishlists and tips for finding the best vacation rentals. I’ll be adding to these wishlists and creating new ones often, so don’t forget to check back!

AIRBNB WISHLISTS

  • Cartagena AIRBNB Wishlist  - I tried to find an array of price points. Some of the places are HUGE and so unique; they make perfects spots for group trips (hello birthday or anniversary parties)! I mean, just look at them and tell me what you think.

  • Paris AIRBNB Wishlist - wow, have prices gone up since last year! It's Paris, so I get it but just be warned there might be some sticker shock when you click through that link.

  • Lisbon AIRBNB Wishlist - this is one of my favorite places to peruse because there are so many unique places. If you’re looking to be close to the beach try searching Cascais - it’s about 30 minutes from Lisbon and beyond beautiful.

  • AIRBNBs I Dream About - because you never know when you might find yourself vacationing in Malta or on an island in Spain.

Tips + Tricks for Searching AIRBNB

AIRBNB recently optimized their search functionality, which makes searching for vacation rentals so much easier.

  • If you know high level what you’re looking for: dates, location, size, and budget then those are easy to input and get results. From there, I like to narrow down to SuperHosts and Plus. Superhosts are hosts that have met certain criteria with AIRBNB for ratings and communications. In other words: you know they are legit! Plus is a selection of only the highest quality homes with hosts known for great reviews and attention to detail. This properties are typically the most well designed and decorated. Of course, make sure to always read through the reviews!

  • If you are feeling wanderlust or have flexible dates: try to pick location + dates as high level as possible. What does that mean?

    • Say I want to go to Spain for 2 weeks in June and my budget is $3,000. I would input just that. You’ll get an array of options in your price point and possibly discover a location you’d never think of visiting. This is how I discovered our Tuscany place.

    • What if I want to go to Palm Springs for 4 nights and could arrive on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday? Then I would input my location and date starting on Thurs and select plus/minus 2 days to give me the most results.

  • When it comes to location, it’s important to take into consideration walkability and public transportation if you won’t have a car. Typically you can get a real world POV of this from the reviews section.

  • Don’t forget you can search things like:

    • Cribs which is extremely important when traveling as a family

    • Accessibility features

    • A/C - do not forget to review the A/C situation! Especially in Europe because not all places have A/C like we are used to in America and oohhh eee, that is NOT a fun situation to be in.

  • Extended stay discounts! This is a thing even for as little as one week bookings. Try changing up your dates to see if any discounts apply and don’t be intimated to reach out to hosts to see if they would offer one on 2+ week bookings.

You are the customer, so if you have additional questions, message the host before booking to get clarity and comfort. I hope these tips helped! As always you can find me on IG @everydaypursuits - I am pretty good with my DMs. You can also comment on this post with any Qs. xx - Ash
