Pursuit Beauty: Stay Matte with Rimmel

It's no secret that I constantly battle THE shine.  Makeup artists always say "Oh, it's a good thing. Oily skin means you won't get wrinkles and you'll age gracefully!" Umm... while aging gracefully is at the top of my list so is banishing the reflection coming off of my face come 12pm everyday. #thestruggleisreal! When Rimmel asked me to take the Stay Matte challenge I instantly said yes as I've never really found a tinted moisturizer or foundation that could battle what my face is throwing down... if you know what I mean.


Pre- 'Stay Matte' foundation my morning makeup routine consisted of:
1. Shine control primer
2. BB cream
3. Blush & bronzer
4. Finishing Powder

Enter Rimmel 'Stay Matte' foundation: 

First impression = whoah, thick consistency! Keep in mind I'm a tinted moisturizer or BB cream kind of girls so foundation in general always seems a little much for me. I tested 'Stay Matte' without using my shine control primer or finishing powder - a true test. By golly, by 12pm my face was still shine free. Talk about an amazing feeling! 

There are two big pluses to Rimmel's 'Stay Matte' foundation: the effective coverage + it really keeps shine at bay almost all day. That being said, I probably won't incorporate just 'Stay Matte' foundation into my daily routine only because I like an overall lighter consistency. What I tested the other day is mixing half of my go-to bb cream with 'Stay Matte' foundation and it was a fabulous mix of lightweight coverage and matte loveliness! Considering that Rimmel's foundation properties were legit, I want to try out the Stay Matte Primer to see how that works under my normal routine - will update you on the primer via Instagram!
