4th of July Painted Pineapples
The 4th of July is upon us and, of course, it's the perfect time to paint some pineapples. I'm definitely not re-inventing the wheel with these (see my previous DIY) but I thought it would be fun to do for the upcoming holiday. Honestly, they take about 30 minutes to make and last for at least a week.
Think of all the instagrammable moments you'll have at your 4th of July party! Get the deets below:
supplies
- pineapples
- martha stewart acrylic paints
- foam brushes
- 3 piece paint brush set
- tarp or kraft paper
For the gold one, I used a metallic paint then a gold glitter paint on top to give it a bit more sheen. In real life she's spectacular!
how
Part 1: palm the pineapple and use the foam brush to get a good base of paint all over the stems. Don't worry about the nooks and crannies at first, just get some coverage going and then use the smaller paint brushes to really spread out the paint and fill in the details. Each pineapple takes about 10 minutes and since the paint is pretty thick there shouldn't be a big mess.
Part 2: Let 'em dry overnight and you have some pretty pineapple decor... btw, they're still edible!
These could even make great hostess gifts if you're going to a 4th of July party! On another note, if you've been looking for the perfect lace-up flats these red guys are BEYOND. Did you see them on my Insta? I die over them. They're under $100 and come in black too. Definitely size down if you're in between sizes as they run big. Full outfit looks coming to the blog soon!
