#Targetstyle: New Beauty Finds
This post is sponsored by Target.
I consider myself pretty tuned in to emerging trends - both beauty and fashion - but lately it feels like there are so many new products and styles coming out it's hard to keep up! As I was browsing the beauty section of Target a few week ago (as one always does during any trip to Tarjay), I stumbled upon some new brands and beauty products that got me asking myself, "What IS that?!"
After a little research and some testing, I think I've got it! Here's 5 new products that I've been playing around, with and a little 411 on what they actually are:

Serums are probably the most familiar to all of us. They typically come in bottles with droppers and have an oil-like consistency. This thicker consistency means they're more concentrated than what you'd find in a moisturizer, which is also why many serums are for overnight - your skin gets to suck up all the goodness.
With Pixi's Overnight Glow Serum, the main ingredient is glycolic acid which is used to exfoliate the skin and leave a glow. Glycolic Acid is the ingredient they use in some professional peels (at a much higher concentration though). I've been testing out Pixi's serum, and I have to say so far I'm loving the results. For me, because I have oily skin, I don't want to exfoliate TOO much or else it makes my skin overproduce oil, so I've been using Pixi's serum every other day instead of the suggested every day. My skin wakes up happy and glowing, plus I've noticed the lines around my mouth are definitely smoothing out a bit. WINNING!

Mizon Skin Recovery Night Repairing Seruming Ampoule
~
This was one of those products that had me Googling right in the Target aisle. What's an ampoule? Well, it's basically a supercharged serum with higher concentrations of active ingredients that you're meant to use for a finite amount of time as a booster. It's very big in the K beauty trend (Korean beauty), which is all the talk right now in skincare!
I'm obsessed with this stuff. It was exactly what I needed during last week's trip to Vegas because the hotel air was drying out my skin like WHOA. The
definitely added supercharged moisture to my face. My tip is using the dropper to add directly to the face and patting it in. If you put it on your fingertips first, your fingers soak up product.

Laneige Water Bank Soothing Gel Mask
~
You've probably seen these masks all over Instagram and Snapchat. They're "paper" masks, which means instead of a tube of product that you apply to your hands then put on your face (which can be super messy), the product is already soaked into a paper mask that you pull out of the bag and just stick to your face. By the time the mask duration is over, the product has all been absorbed into the skin and you just pull off the paper and throw away, no rinsing necessary. It's pretty awesome!
I've been loving Laneige products
, so I was super excited to try this mask. My skin definitely felt hydrated afterwards, but the next day I started breaking out near my temples/hair line. I'm thinking that some of the product got all soaked up in my baby hairs and it was a little too much for my skin. Next time, I'm going to take a damp cloth and just run it around hairline just to be safe!

While I have yet to try this product, I've heard micellar water works wonder. What is it? Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water and it can be used to take off makeup, wash your face, AND as a moisturizer.

Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil
~
Back in the day if you would've told me to put oil on my face I would've laughed. I've always battled acne and have very oily skin, so the thought of putting MORE oil made no sense. Then one day I tried cleansing oil and fell in love. What I didn't realize, was that the non-oil cleansers were actually drying out my skin, stripping it of essential oils, which then made my skin overproduce oil to make up for it. Talk about a bad circle! Now I actually use cleansing oil to remove my makeup then a very sensitive cleanser to wash.
Have you been trying out any new beauty products? Now that I'm 30 I feel like I need to be even more on top of my skincare. Funny how things change it just a few months, hah! Find your style
