5 Fall Wardrobe Must-Haves for Every Budget
Although it’s 85 degrees in LA this week, I’m sort of getting excited for cooler temps. I say “sort of” because for me fall fashion feels a little like groundhogs day: time to break out the chunky sweaters, boots, oversized cardis, etc. I don’t know, fall just really isn’t my season. I find the fashion to be somewhat dull and year after year I want to bang my head on the wall every time I see someone talk about Stuart Weitzman over- the-kneee-boots. Like honestly, if you don’t have them by now, you’re not missing out. PROMISE!
Anywho, I’m trying to get in the fall groove over here and have been pinning outfit ideas to my Fall Style Pinterest board. Every season you gals ask for some seasonal staples that I would suggest so I thought I’d put together this post to reference. These are styles that I own and/or see myself wearing a bunch over the next few months.
TEDDY JACKET
Last year Teddy Jackets kind of became the new denim jacket.; something that’s casual and easy to throw on with jeans or over a silk slip dress. There’s different version: cardis, oversized, bombers, and actual coats. The one I’m wearing in this pic is from Michael Stars (in xs) and it’s a bomber style that is perfect for a crisp fall day.
Graphic Sweatshirts
If you follow me on stories then you know I live in my Anine Bing Sweatshirt. Graphic sweatshirts are easy layering pieces and can easily make a silk skirt a little more approachable. My tip: stick with vintage prints, abstract designs, and locations vs. cutesy words and phrases.
Cream Denim
Cream colored denim is definitely having a moment and I’m all for a monochromatic look (see my recent outfit video here!) Yes, you can go with a skinny or tapered look but I’m really loving a cropped wide leg pant. It’s super fresh and goes great with heels, flats, tennis, and boots.
FELT WIDE BRIM HAT
No matter the season, I always have a hat nearby. They are great for those days when you just don’t want to do you hair or when you need a little something something to liven up your look. This season I picked up the Lack of Color Rancher. Look for wide, hard brims. Floppy brims are feeling a little dated.
High Top Sneakers
It might just be because I fell in love with these Converse sneakers during my recent trip to Europe, but all I want to do is wear high top sneakers. They’re comfy AF, somehow go with everything, and give outfits just a little edge. I guess it’s kind of like the current Doc Martin trend (which I can’t really get on board with).
