How To Wear the Bellaband: Outfit Ideas + Tips
I know I know… I sound like a broken record every time I talk about shopping my closet while pregnant but now that I’m 2/3 of the way through I feel strongly that it’s possible. Well, except for the amazing outfit staple we call jeans. Not going to lie the hardest part about dressing the bump has been letting go of my high waist jeans. After trying a few pair of maternity jeans I was not satisfied and decided to try the Bellaband: a stretchy tube with a stay-put silicone strap that fits around your expanding belly, allowing you to wear your favorite jeans. TBH, I’m KICKING myself for not trying it sooner. The Bellaband is LIFE! It sounds stupid but this $28 band has helped me feel so much more confident when getting dressed. There’s days when you just don’t know what to wear outside of leggings. Having the Bellaband makes it possible to throw on a pair of jeans and an oversized top and walk out the door. Keep scrolling for a quick Bellaband how-to, 3 outfit ideas, and a video to see it all in action:
In terms of sizing I bought a size 1 based of the size chart. You can either step into it or pull it over your head. Make sure to bring the Bellaband all the way to the bottom of your open fly so you don’t give anyone a show. The band can be worn pulled up all the way over the belly or folded in half to give a little more support. A few tips/thoughts:
It’s comfortable but even more comfortable when worn with a zip fly vs. button fly
My pants stay put for the most part. After some standing and sitting I need to adjust but that’s to be expected.
