My 3 Summer Essentials from Clinique
HELLOOOO Summer! It's my favorite time of the year and I plan to soak up every single moment of summer goodness. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to literally "soak" up summer in a super fun underwater shoot with Clinique - America's Next Top Model style. It was HARD (all.the.water.in.nose) but the photos turned out really fun, plus I got to take a peak at some of their new summer products that I instantly started adding into my routine.
I'm a recent Clinique convert - last year I had an amazing experience with my girl Steph at the Clinique Counter and was super impressed with both the products and her knowledge. Since then, not a day goes by where I'm not using one of their skincare or makeup products. I'm combination oily to oily skin on their 3 step program and I will say that changing from a cream to gel moisturizer was THE. BEST. THING I've ever done for my skin. Anywho - that's my plug for the Clinique counter - it's awesome and you should check it out next time you're in Nordis.
The 3 new products that I'm infusing into my summer routine are 1) their new mineral sunscreen 2) 'stay matte' invisible blotting powder and 3) pop lacquers + pop lips colors.
Their bomb dot com sunscreen from last year was my lifesaver at Splash House. I got all my friends hooked on it because it didn't smell super sunscreeny, was gentle on the skin, and it just worked. Even my bff who somehow manages to burn no matter what SPF or sunscreen she's wearing was beyond impressed with it. I was all ready to buy it again for this year until I learned about their new mineral sunscreen which is basically the same amazing formula as last year but without any white residue ... umm, can you say game changer?
Because I have oily skin, I definitely battle the midday shine. Supposedly us oily gals are going to be less wrinkly than the dry skin gals, but man we're sure going to go through a lot of mattifying products in our lifetime! I've been testing out Clinique's new 'stay matte' invisible blotting powder and have to say I really enjoy how it feels and looks on my face. They also did a fab job with the packaging because the sponge is in the compact and the compact is super thin which makes it easy to just throw in any bag.
Another thing that Steph did last year was turn me on to lip color - you guys, it took me almost 30 years to get comfortable wearing anything but nude lipgloss. But now, I'm OBSESSED! Why was I going around naked all these years?

Both the pop lacquers + pop lips colors have been in heavy rotation recently. The lacquers are definitely more glossy but not in a gross, sticky kind of way... they leave the perfect shine. For summer I'm all about the bright pinks + corals, like 'happy pop' that I wore to a wedding on Sunday.
Let me know if you try any of these and if you love as much as I do! PS: I’ve decided to host a little giveaway of some of my favorite Clinique products via snapchat: pursuitofshoes. There are potentially 6 winners, so don't miss it!
